Tajik Expat Wins $1 Million in Dubai Duty Free Draw

The first “Millennium Millionaire” from Tajikistan is Abduvali Akhmad Ali.

At Terminal 2 of Dubai International Airport’s Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw, a Tajik migrant won $1 million.

The Millennium Millionaire Series 413 was won by Abduvali Akhmad Ali after his ticket number 4226 was accepted. On January 16, he had ordered the ticket online.

Since the launch of the Millennium Millionaire program in 1999, Ali is the first Tajik to receive a $1 million prize. He is not reachable right now.

Other Winners

Amit Saraf, an Indian expat, 48, won a Mercedes Benz S500 with ticket 0115 in the Finest Surprise Series 1829, which he bought on January 12 while traveling to New Delhi, India.

Saraf, who owns an internet trading company, bought six tickets in Series 1829. Saraf has been a consistent participant in the Dubai Duty Free program since 2016.

On January 20, 2021, Saraf previously won $1 million in Series 348 with ticket number 0518. After his victory, he relocated from Bangalore to Dubai and started an online trading company.

“Winning Dubai Duty Free gave me the opportunity to consider moving to Dubai and planning for the future. I always think this is one of the world’s most sincere promotions, and today I’ve been fortunate twice,” he remarked.

Meanwhile, on September 15, 2022, Yasas Nalin Pathirana, a resident of Galle and a citizen of Sri Lanka, won a BMW R nineT Pure motorcycle with ticket number 0906 in the Finest Surprise Series.

Pathirana wasn’t immediately available for comment.

Since the campaign began in 1999, 49 different nationalities have won $1 million.
