55 Year Old Indian Finance Manager Won $1 Million in Dubai Duty Free Draw

The 55-year-old man is a resident of Doha and works for a company that performs building maintenance.

At the most recent Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw, which took place on Saturday following the prize-giving ceremony for the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships Men’s final, an Indian national who resides in Doha, Qatar, won $1 million.

Russian tennis star Daniil Medvedev, who won the competition after defeating fellow countryman Andrey Rublev in the finals, was the winner of the drawing.

With ticket number 1771, Abdul Rauf Mullali Kunnontakath, 55, became the most recent millionaire in the Millennium Millionaire Series 416.

Kunnontakath, a father of two who has lived in Qatar for 25 years and consistently participated in Dubai Duty Free’s promotion since 2018, holds a financial manager position for a building maintenance company in Doha.

In contrast to other promotions of a similar nature from other duty-free stores, he claimed: “I’ve been purchasing tickets [for DDF drawings] since 2018, and with just 5,000 tickets on sale, I knew I had a higher chance of winning in your promotion, and I was right as it finally happened.”

Kunnontakath, an Indian from Kerala, is the 207th member of the country to receive a $1 million prize since the Millennium Millionaire initiative began in 1999. The majority of people who purchase tickets for the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire are Indian citizens.

At the Millennium Millionaire draw, Ramesh Cidambi, Senior COO of Dubai Duty Free, and Senior El Sibai, Senior Vice President for Marketing, were in Medvedev’s company.

Over the duration of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, which took place from February 19 to March 4, tickets for the Finest Surprise and Millennium Millionaire promotions were available at Dubai Duty Free counters at the Tennis Village.
